CS2 (CS:GO) betting with crypto: books, markets and the rules that decide the payout

Guide · Esports

Betting on Counter-Strike 2 with crypto means betting at a book that covers esports and takes BTC or USDT. Here are the ranked books with esports, the CS2 markets explained, and the map and overtime rules that decide whether a bet pays.

Betting on CS2 with crypto means betting on Counter-Strike 2, the successor to CS:GO since 2023, at a book that accepts bitcoin, USDT or another coin. Odds and markets are those of any esports book; what changes is the cashier. This page gathers the ranked books that cover esports and explains the CS2-specific rules that decide whether a bet pays, is voided or loses.

How a CS2 match works, as far as betting goes

Since CS2, a map is won by reaching 13 rounds out of 24 (the MR12 format). At 12–12 there is overtime in blocks of six rounds until one team wins. Matches are best of one, three or five maps: in a BO3 the first to two maps wins. A map cannot end in a draw, but a best-of-two match can, and some books offer that market with three outcomes.

CS2 markets

MarketWhat you bet onWhat complicates it
Match winnerWho wins the seriesLittle; the lowest-margin market
Map handicapFor example −1.5: winning 2–0 in a BO3One lost map loses it
Total mapsWhether a BO3 goes to 2 or 3 mapsDepends on the weaker team stealing one
Map winnerWho wins a given mapThe map may not be played if the series is decided
Total roundsOver or under, say, 21.5 rounds on a mapOvertime adds rounds: check whether it counts
Round handicapWinning the map by more than X roundsAlso affected by overtime
Pistol roundWho wins the first round of each halfA very fast market with a high margin
Tournament winnerWho wins the eventBalance locked for weeks and the highest margin

Round and pistol markets hinge on a few plays, and books price them with more margin than the match winner. How to work out that margin is on Bitcoin betting sites.

The rules that decide whether you are paid

Books publish esports rules separate from their football rules. In CS2, these points decide the most bets:

  1. Overtime. Whether it counts for round totals and handicaps. At most books it does, but read it.
  2. Unplayed maps. In a BO3 that ends 2–0, bets on the third map are usually voided.
  3. Player changes. Some books void if a team plays a substitute; others let the bet stand.
  4. Postponed matches. How long the book waits before voiding.
  5. Forfeit or walkover. Whether it counts as a win for the opponent or is voided.
  6. Live betting. The book may suspend the market or reject the bet while it updates the price after each round.

Crypto versus skins: two different worlds

This page covers only crypto sportsbooks. If a site offers you skin betting, the result is decided by the site's own game of chance, not by a CS2 match.

Which coin to bet on CS2 with

Esports bets are fast, especially live, and many prices move after every round. With USDT the balance stays around one dollar and you always know how much you have staked. With bitcoin, a winning bet also rises and falls with the price until you withdraw. The cheapest network for USDT and the mistakes that cost money are on USDT casinos.

Before the first bet

  • Open the book's esports section and check it covers CS2 and the event you follow.
  • Read the esports rules: overtime, unplayed maps and player changes.
  • Compare the price of the same match at two books: esports margins vary a lot.
  • Decide whether to take the bonus before depositing, and its sports rollover.
  • Set a deposit limit; live, decisions come every few seconds.

CS2 matches run at almost any hour, and live there is a bet available every round. Set a budget in euros and do not raise it after a bad run. Help and tools are on responsible gambling.

Frequently asked questions

Which CS:GO betting sites accept crypto?
Among the books in our ranking, Thunderpick started as an esports book and Sportsbet.io covers esports next to football; both take BTC, ETH, USDT and LTC. Stake, Cloudbet, Bitsler and Rakebit run sportsbooks on a crypto balance, but we have not checked their CS2 coverage.
Does overtime count in CS2 round bets?
At most books, yes: round totals and round handicaps usually include overtime. But it is a rule of each book and each market, set out in its esports rules. Read it before betting on a close total.
What happens if a map is not played?
Bets on that map are usually voided and refunded. Match bets stand if the match is completed. Each book defines this in its esports rules, along with player substitutions and postponed matches.
Is crypto betting the same as skin betting?
No. At a crypto sportsbook you stake coins at odds and are paid in the same coin. On skin sites you stake Steam items whose value moves with their market, often on games of chance such as roulette or cases, and many show no licence.
